In case you’ve had your head buried in the sand and missed the memo, it’s Mother’s Day weekend. A few days ago, we had a discussion in the office about how everyone was going to celebrate Mother’s Day.
The responses varied from dinners, to mailing gifts home, to phone calls. As a mother myself, part of me drifted off in curiosity of what my husband and kids would have up their sleeve for this weekend. Men, if you want to know the perfect gift that you can give to your wife–the mother of your children–read on.
The Best Gift
The best gift I was ever given could not compare to any materialistic thing that could be purchased. For me, happiness is having a home full of love and laughter, and it comes in the form of having three amazing kids who know that they can count on me and my husband at all times. That gift was my husband choosing to take a stand, reclaiming himself from the grips of the enemy, and his struggle with porn that waged war against our home.

When my husband stood up to fight, he was fighting for something greater than himself. He was standing up for himself, our marriage and our family. He was proclaiming that the struggle, handed down for generations, would stop dead in its tracks and would have no authority over our children.
Will my kids encounter porn? According to statistics, the answer is yes. That is when their dad will love them enough to step in, share his story, and guide them by the hand onward to victory. I believe with every part of my being, that my kids will not stay in that place of darkness.
Because of my husband’s self-less determination, our family will now have overflowing joy–not just on the holidays but everyday– and the legacy that he will someday leave behind will bless all of the generations to come.

While some are teenagers, I’ve also talked to many broken-hearted mothers who are learning of their adult son’s struggles and they worry about broken marriages and the devastating impact that their grandchildren will experience. Many of these women share stories of their husband’s struggle, and wonder what impact it is having on their children.
Men, with only a day separating you from Mother’s Day, decide that this will be the year that you will honor all of the sacrifices that your wife made to give you the title of “dad.”
